The community cinema

Screen St Ives (SSI) is the community cinema for St Ives in Cambridgeshire.

We are based at the St Ives Corn Exchange and are supported by ACE, Friends of St Ives Corn Exchange, a registered charity. Our programme of twice-monthly screenings cover a wide variety of films. With the aim, of enabling access to cinema, encouraging interest in film as an art form, and fostering a strong sense of community within St Ives. SSI is a member of Cinema For All, the industry body that represents the UK’s growing community cinema network.

Films show on a five-metre screen in the spacious Charter Hall on the first and third Thursday of the month. We welcome everyone to come and share some of the world’s fantastic diversity of films – some new, some old, some little known gems, but all carefully selected for their quality and interest.

Doors open at 6:30pm for 7:30pm start, The Riverport Café Bar will be open before the show for refreshments.  Tickets cost £5 and can be bought in advance from the Corn Exchange or online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/cexevents

ACE & SCREEN ST IVES

ACE has supported SSI since it was launched by a group of film enthusiasts in 2011. We work together to improve screening equipment and facilities for the various communities in our area. ACE played an important role in rescuing the historic Corn Exchange from dereliction in 2010. The building is owned by St Ives Town Council and is run by the Corn Exchange Community Interest Company (CIC) and ACE.
