In the 2025 film The Ballad of Wallis Island, lottery winner Charles Heath (Tim Key) escapes the world by retreating to his remote island.  He hires his favourite folk duo, Herb McGwyer (Tom Basden) and Nell Mortimer (Carey Mulligan), to perform just for him.  The trio reunites on his idyllic island and as the music begins old resentments surface.  They navigate humour, longing and the strange intimacy of an audience of one discovering that solitude nostalgia and friendship can collide in unexpected and moving ways.
